[44CON Announce] 44CON 2023 News
Hi!
I would like to start this announcement for 2023 by thanking everyone that has attended last year, sponsored last year, spoke last year, did training last year and helped us out to run the event as crew and more.
We know that we were affected by events that took place in the UK. We had a toast to our absent friends to reflect everything at that time. Sadly our attendance was down due to this and we also lost a couple of our speakers. We are hoping that nothing like this occurs in 2023.
We are holding 44CON 2023 on Wednesday 13th in the evening, Thursday 14th and Friday 15th September 2023. We are currently in negotiations with two venues but the dates are confirmed with both. We will let you know where in the next couple of weeks but mark these dates down in your calendar.
The Wednesday will be an evening event and will see the return of the Community Evening. The Keynote that night will be from Wendy Nather of Cisco.
The Thursday morning will open with a Keynote from a senior speaker from the NCSC. Then you can expect a packed programme of things to do and see, watch and learn, until the Friday evening.
We are going to run an after party that you all as attendees are invited to. There will be a box to tick asking if you will come to the after party. Please tick it if you are coming as we need to know the numbers.
We are starting Early Bird sales soon. There will be 50 Early Birds tickets. Grab yours now! We will then offer a first batch of standard tickets in a month time or when the Early Birds are sold out, whichever is quickest. We will release a second batch in two months time. This will be the predominant bulk of the tickets.
We can confirm that it won't just be talks. We will have the usual array of workshops and interactive things to do. We will give you news about these over the next few weeks.
The Call for Papers is open now. You can find it at https://cfp.44con.com . If you submitted a talk last year you will find that your login still works. Please give us your bestest and brightest ideas. We will have a page on the 44CON website but, essentially, we are looking for original talks of the highest quality that are about techniques and knowledge. Note that you can submit for other conferences that we are involved in at the same time, just tick the relevant boxes if that is the case.
We are looking for more Sponsors than last year to pay for the event in order to keep your ticket price down. It is as simple as that. We get less sponsors, the event will cost everyone more. You are considering sponsoring us, do contact us at sponsors@44con.com ! We have plenty of options.
Call for Villages : we are already going to have a Village for Policy (more about this in a future mail-out) and also a transport related Village (with some very special things to do). Do you have an idea for a Village? Contact us and run it by us.
We will be running training before the event (Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th). In the past training courses have helped massively in keeping conference ticket prices down. Please consider attending one this year. Contact us at training@44con.com if you want to deliver training with us in September.
And as usual there will be great coffee.
I look forward to seeing you in September!
Adrian
