[44Con-announce] 44Con 2012 is go!
We've Been Busy!
As you may know, we've all been busy planning for 44Con 2012. We've studied the feedback forms, pored over the speaker comments and even called some of you to ask for further feedback after the event. It's really important to all of us that we make 44Con 2012 even better than 44Con 2011. We received a 92.4% approval rating on the event, something that generally just doesn't happen. The feedback from everyone has helped spur us on to make this a regular event. Thanks so much for all the good words from all of you.
So: What Now?
Currently there's 5 (yes, count 'em!) videos up on our Youtube Channel, so you can watch some of the talks you might've missed. Some of the talks weren't filmed for security reasons, and others had technical problems that meant that the quality wasn't quite good enough for us. We're going to try and get more videos up over time, but in the meantime why not visit the Youtube channel and have a look at what we have so far, including Neil Kettle's Trusteer takedown and Phil Polstra's USB Hardware Hacking.
You're the first to know about 2012 (the mailing list gets all the exclusives!) so please tell everyone you know! 44Con 2012 will take place at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel and Conference Centre in Kensington, London from the 5th - 7th September 2012. We're sorting out a special booking code for the two hotels connected to the conference centre. We're also going to run a separate training event on the 3rd and 4th elsewhere in London. After listening to your feedback, we've set up the schedule as follows:
3rd - 4th September - Training
We're focusing on the conference at the moment, but we'll send out training information as soon as we have it. If you're considering a group booking or are planning budgets and want to get an idea of what to put in or have particular course preferences, let us know and we'll try to accomodate accordingly.
5th September - Fast Track Day
This is a special 1 day sub-event for busy people that can't get the full 3 days away from work as well as final year students looking to become the information security experts of tomorrow. We're looking to bring the best of last year's infosec track and new speakers to our venue on the 5th with turbo talks from speakers from the other two days to give you the background on the exciting breakthroughs they'll disclose in the following days. We have more networking time between talks too, and a whole load of great things lined up!
6th - 7th September - Technical Conference
We're running a full two day event jam packed with top notch technical speakers from the UK and around the world. Adrian, Steve and co have been busy speaking to internationally reknowned speakers and we have some exciting names to announce. As always we'll make sure you hear it first on the mailing list!
What to Expect
We're still planning the event, but after reading and listening to your feedback, you should expect the following:
Ticket Sales
Our Early Bird tickets will go on sale from February the 6th 2012. Early bird tickets close after March 31st, but once they're gone, they're gone! We're limiting sales to 5 tickets at a time to give people a chance. If you want to buy more than 5 tickets, please get in touch. Tickets will go on sale at our eventbrite page.
We can't wait, and we're sure you can't either! We'll send you more info as it comes out. As always, the mailing list will come first, so don't forget to tell your friends.
Kind Regards,
Adrian and Steve
