[44Con-announce] 44Café, Speakers, Talks and more, oh my!
Welcome to the July 44CON newsletter!
/dev/random from adrian and Steve
We've been busy like busy bees in a busy beehive (stop it. - Adrian)... Argh, you get what I mean! We've got some knockout talks for you, really amazing workshops and all-round awesomeness! Read on for more info!
Speakers! Talks! Workshops!
The talks can be found here, but to whet your whistle here's two of the talks and one workshop you'll be able to see at 44CON this september.
Dan Tentler: Building Antibodies - The Phishing program at Twitter
Dan was responsible for setting up Twitter’s anti-phishing program, which was created from scratch using a range of open-source tools and tailored to Twitter’s company structure. The talk will discuss how to stand up a program like this, how to measure its effectiveness and impact, and how it has reduced the risk of account takeover and other phishing-related breaches. With phishing being a very common attack vector for a wide range of attackers (see how I managed not to say APT then?!) this talk is sure to be relevant to anyone working in corporate information security.
Zach Cutlip: Reversing and Exploiting BT CPE Devices
This two hour workshop covers the detail of how Bletchley Park created Colossus, one of the first electronic computers and certainly the first to crack a cipher. It starts with the theoretical basis of the Lorentz cipher and then leads on to the various hardware devices devised to assist Bletchley’s attacks which culminated in the creation of Colossus by Tommy Flowers. This was a hugely important development in computing and cryptologic history.
Oh, by the way, that link to talks earlier? Not the link off the website to the first round speakers. This is the link for ALL the talks. Thanks for putting up with our delays in getting this out, please wait a day or two to tell the Internet so those on the list who haven't already can buy a ticket before everyone else finds out about the line-up!
We still have spots available for our training courses. There's five (count 'em!) courses on offer covering everything from Android to Web app testing and plenty of exploitation in-between!
We've held the prices to the same as last year - £1200 including VAT - we hope this helps you.
Price includes a 3 course hot lunch and refreshment breaks each day.
Please note: you need a training booking to attend the training and a conference booking to attend the conference.
Remember to follow us on twitter @44CON and of course, our website at http://44con.com
Thanks so much for your messages and support.
We can't wait, and we're sure you can't either! We'll send you more info as it comes out. As always, the mailing list will come first, so don't forget to tell your friends.
Kind Regards,
Adrian & Steve
